Ungo 8300 Quick Notes

Below is a list of some of the UNGO 8300 configuration commands and diagnostic info that I thought would be handy to have nearby.

For those with a PDA, I might suggest using a program like iSilo to convert the html page to a document that can be downloaded to your Palm or Visor.

Bypass Space Shield

Emergency Override

Tamper Alert

Panic Mode

Allows you to instantly trigger the alarm in an emergency situation by the Remote Transmitter.

To enter Panic Mode:

1. Press and hold Button 1 for 2 seconds.
The system will trigger.
2. Press Button 1 again to stop Panic Mode.

If Panic Mode is not stopped by the Remote, it will automatically time out after 40 seconds, and the system will return to its prior Armed/Disarmed state.

Valet Mode

Allows you to temporarily disable the security system when the car is being service or turned over to a parking attendant.

To turn Valet Mode on or off:

1. Turm on the ignition.
2. Press and hold the override switch.
3. While holding the override switch, turn off the ignition.

The siren will chirp once to indicate you have turned Valet Mode on.
The siren will chirp twice to indicate you have turned Valet Mode off.

4. Release the override switch.

While Valet Mode is on, you can continue to lock and unlock you doom with the Remote Transmitters, as well as operate the Auxiliary Functions.

To Bypass the Logic Sensor II:

With the system armed, press the Mode Button on the Remote Transmitter 3 times, holding down on the third press.

Continue holding the Mode Button.
After 5 seconds, the LED on the Remote Transmitter will begin to flash rapidly.
The siren will chirp 3 times, indicating the Logic Sensor II has been bypassed.

Release the Mode Button.

The Logic Sensor II will remain bypassed until the next time the system is armed.

Bypass Space Shield and Logic Sensor

Press the button sequence for Aux-2 on the Remote

This will bypass space shield and logic sensor.

It will chirp 5 times when activated and 3 times when deactivated.

NOTE: This feature requires that the Ungo sensor defeat wire be connected to the Aux-2 or Aux-3wire on the Ungo harness. Additionally the Aux function needs to be programmed to "latched." If Aux-2 is used, this feature will shutoff the next time you arm or disarm.

Emergency Override

In case your Remote Transmitter becomes inoperable, or it is lost or stolen, you can still enter and drive your car by using the following procedure. Be sure that before you attempt the procedure that you have your ignition key ready and that you know the location of the override switch

To override the system:

1. Unlock the door using the key.
2. Enter the vehicle.
Because the system is armed, the system will trigger and the siren will be sounding
3. Turn ignition key on.
4. Within 4 seconds, press and hold the override switch.
The system will disarm.
5. You can now start and drive the car.

Tamper Alert

On Disarming, if the system responds with one long and one short chirp, indicating the system was triggered, the LED will flash for 60 seconds to indicate the zone that triggered the system. If the Audible Tamper Alert Report feature is turned on during installation, the siren will chirp to indicate the triggered zone.

LED Flashes (60 seconds):

1 flash  =door
2 flashes =Logic Sensor II (shock)
3 flashes =optional sensor or Space Shield III
4 flashes =trunk
5 flashes =Logic Sensor II (motion)

example: flash-flash-pause-flash-flash-pause = Logic Sensor (shock)

To Arm the System:

1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Press Button 1.
The siren will chirp once.*
The doors will lock.
The parking lights will flash once.
The LED will turn on red, indicating the ignition, doors, hood and trunk inputs are activated.

The siren chirp(s) during Arming will alert you the condition of the system and vehicle when the system is armed,

1 chirp  =normal arming
1 + 3 chirps =Logic Sensor II (Shock and Motion) sensitivity is off
1 + 4 chirps =door, hood, or trunk open
1 + 5 chirps =Sensor Defeat input activated

During Arming, if the system detects a bad sensor or an open zone, the system will ignore that input, but keep all other areas, protected.

3. After 20 seconds:
The LED will begin blinking, indicating that the sensor inputs are activated

Full Time System Diagnostics

The system continuously monitors all protected zones, even when it is not armed, and warns if it detects a problem when you turn off the ignition.

1. Turm off the ignition.
2. If the siren chirps twice, the system has detected a problem.*
3. The status LED will flash to indicate the zone where the problem has been detected

1 flash  = door
2 flashes = Logic Sensor II
3 flashes = Space Shield III or optional sensor
4 flashes = hood / trunk

The system must. see the zone open or active for at least 20 seconds before the zone is determined to be defective. This way, opening the car door before turning off the ignition will not cause the siren to emit the warning chirps

To Adjust the Logic Sensor sensitivity:

1. Turn the ignition key on.
2. Within 4 seconds, press Transmitter Button 1.

The siren will chirp (1 through 12) to indicate the current shock sensitivity level. The default shock sensitivity setting is 6.

3. Test the sensitivity. The siren will respond with a short chirp when shock is detected and a long chirp when motion is detected.

The Logic Sensor II has 8 levels of sensitivity for motion. The default motion sensitivity setting is 4.
Be sure that the Logic Sensor II is mounted horizontally if motion detection is desired.

4. To make adjustments:

Press Button 1 to increase the shock sensitivity.
Press Button 2 to decrease the shock sensitivity.
Press the Mode Button, then Button 1 to increase the motion sensitivity.
Press the Mode Button, then Button 2 to decrease the motion sensitivity.

The siren will chirp to indicate the sensitivity level each time the Button is pressed.
5. When you are satisfied with the sensitivity, turn off the ignition.

To Enter Space Shield III Adjustment

3. Test the Interior zone sensitivity.
Each time the sensor detects movement, the siren will chirp 1 time and the LED on the sensor will light red.

4. To make adjustments:

Press Button 1 to increase the sensitivity.
Press Button 2 to decrease the sensitivity.

The siren will emit one long chirp when the sensitivity is increased and two long chirps when the sensitivity is decreased.

When the minimum or maximum sensitivity levels have been reached, the siren will emit 4 quick chirps.

5. Once you are satisfied with the Interior zone sensitivity setting, press the Mode Button, then Button 2 to begin adjusting the Exterior zone.
The siren will chirp 4 times, the Exterior zone can be adjusted.
